The first web and gopher site for what is today's 22nd Row was started in 1993 at http://itchy.shrfs.uiuc.edu/elton.html and gopher://itchy.shrfs.uiuc.edu . It mainly consisted of archives of past digests, some album cover scans, some discussions, concert dates and unofficial information about the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Since then there have been so many great fan web sites created in loving tribute to Elton and Bernie. In fact, The 22nd Row's own website went on hiatus from 1999-2002 since the webmaster did not have time or resources to maintain it.

Rather than attempt to be all things to all people, The 22nd Row encourages you to visit these wonderful sites. As the webmaster of The 22nd Row always notes, this directory of links is by no means comprehensive, nor does it necessarily include all of the best sites; that is simply not possible. However, by visiting many of these sites, you should be able to find most other Elton John and Bernie Taupin-related sites, thus demonstrating the basic principle behind the World-Wide Web, the hyperlink, in action.
